How these shoes are selected

These shoes are selected with a contoured arch area in the footbed, a stable base, and a removable insole so a custom orthotic can take its place. The removable part matters more than it sounds: it is what turns an everyday supportive shoe into one that also works with whatever your clinician has prescribed.

Do I need custom orthotics?

That depends on your feet and is a question for a podiatrist. What these shoes do is provide a supportive starting point, and room for your own insoles if you already use them.

Can flat feet be corrected by shoes?

No. Footwear can support the foot and make standing and walking more comfortable; it does not change the shape of the foot.

Does a contoured footbed help if I stand all day?

It is the main thing these shoes offer. The contour gives the arch something to work against and the stable base keeps the foot from rolling further inward. For longer standing hours, our Chaussures de marche add heel cushioning on top of that.
